As a society, our greatest responsibility is to extend a hand to those in need, a principle deeply embedded in the teachings of the great Sufi saint Sheikh Farid. It is with this spirit of seva (selfless service) that the Baba Farid Foundation was conceived. In recent times, I have been deeply moved by the hardships our fellow Punjabis have faced, particularly during the devastating floods. While development is essential, it cannot come at the cost of human dignity and well-being. It became clear that true progress lies in our ability to respond to crises with compassion and unity.

The foundation believes that immediate relief is just the first step; true service lies in helping communities rebuild their lives and restore their hope. We have observed that in times of disaster, the most vulnerable—our children, the elderly, and families who have lost everything—require a dedicated support system. The Baba Farid Foundation aims to be that system. Our mission is not just to provide food and shelter, but to address the core challenges of recovery, ensuring that aid is delivered efficiently and with the utmost respect for those we serve. This sacred mission depends on the collective will of our community, and we are committed to motivating every citizen to shoulder the responsibility of uplifting our neighbours and strengthening the fabric of our society for generations to come.

The ultimate goal of this humanitarian mission is to reach every family affected by crisis, ensuring that no one in Punjab is left to face hardship alone.

By working hand in hand with a compassionate network of supporters—including government agencies, industry partners, non-profit organizations, gram panchayats, and dedicated local volunteers—we can amplify our impact and deliver aid where it is most needed. Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal is deeply optimistic about the resilience of our communities and the power of collective action to overcome adversity. He is steadfastly committed not to a deadline, but to the enduring principle of being there for our people, offering sustained support to help them rebuild their lives and their futures, whenever and wherever the need arises.
